🇹🇭 Weekly Log: Chiang Mai Flow (Jul 6 – Jul 12)

This week was defined by high-intensity focused work at Gibbon Hostel, integrating new workout techniques, a massive CSS overhaul for your websites, and the introduction of a new, influential travel companion.

Jul 6: New Workout Angles and Obliques

Woke 10a, insomnia from napping, late night gas. reg cafe w/ rice soup. Worked on tools. Walked to lazy gibbon, chat with Polish guy Guba paying 100b/day for a motorbike. Found a new area bit south w/ 7/11, milk tea (no smoothies). Local Kaosoi 50b chk solid. Dorm workout: 1-arm-1-leg pushups (1apu) on a stool (3x10 easier), rotation obliques (2x9), ez abd/adductors (2x9). Lite stretching around bed, lite warriors. 3:30p grab fried chk spot 70b w/ extra thigh. 8p CM Gate smoothie, walked to Sunday Night Mkt. Obliques complaining from the dorm workout (new sensation). Bought cool X-Wing sticker 20b. Aroi spot pork wontons 50b, 3rd smoothie, waited for Kaopao (charged 10b extra, no egg). Terrace: fixed fitness and destination tools w/ CSS.

Jul 7: Financials and Philosophical Chat

Slept better no snoring. vid chat w mom talked about kayaking and finances. No bfast, just rice. Walked, found smoothie corner 40b (overcharged 5b). Kaosoi 50b solid. Chat w/ GPT about consciousness as a function of time, and omnipresence as requisite to omniscience. 4p Kaopao 50b, fried chk thigh 25b. Worked on tool and storage post in dorm. 8p out in rain, dimsum next door 87b (pork buns, hagao). Night Bazaar, beer at Big C, enjoyed the liveliness, finally felt "not in a rush."

Jul 8: Gibbon Check-in and Crummy Gym

Woke 10a. Free mangosteens, slight constipation. Checked out Nonoteru 11:10a. Short walk to Lazy Gibbon, checked in 2:05p (same bed D2, same locker). Smoothie 35b, reg Kaosoi 50b. Feel some nihilism so gym time - try 30b gym south of old city. Gym was cluttered/dirty. Leg WO: Squats (200x15, 10, 185x10—make light weights feel heavy). Adv Kossack w/ 50lb DB (3x8), 75lb DB (2x6), feel wiped. Recovered at temple. Tray spot 55b pork/egg. 8p Noodle stop 55b pork wontons. CM Gate 2 smoothies, Arroy crispy pork 60b. Jul 9: Flexibility and Coding Advice

Woke 10a, found weed in hallway. Organized bag, discard excess packaging. Usual smoothie 35b. Tried to buy sandwich, didn't take 1000 b, broke it at 7/11. Kaopao 60b (faranged for 10b, lost 15b total). Terrace flexibility WO: handstand 5set, got last 2 in a row (right leg straighten easier). Adv Kossack, side split 5set, Tai Chi 10min. Solid 1hr flex wo. Seamstress fixed black shorts 20b. Tried sandwich spot w/ AC 49b. Wiped, tired from stretching. 7p Noodle spot 55b. Fried chk 40b x2pcs. Chat w/ Guba (Polish power) for 2hrs about site dev (Figma, Flutter, claimed he has more exp than 20yr senior devs). Bed at 1a, couldn't sleep from Guba's weed.

Jul 10: Laundromat and Scheduling

Woke 10:30a. Fixed red Nike shorts 20b. Kaosoi 50b. chat w Indian guy Mayur, Florida owner Jay. Laund at Oteri wash, put detergent in wrong tray. Lite kicks on terrace. Saw cutest Thai chick so far (w/ friend at thai boxing smoothie spot). Dryer 50b. Jay said hostel is 160b at counter - cheaping online. Nono 7/11 corner Kaopao + thigh/rice takeaway 90b. Shwr, rest. 7p CM Gate reg smoothie, Arroy crispy pork 90b. Big C not selling alcohol due to national holiday. Night Bazaar nada. Mangos 3 for 25b. Cheap rice box 30b. Booked another night at higher rate 164b. Worked on CSS file.

Jul 11: CSS Overhaul and Ritalin

Rise 9:40a. Cafe at 7/11 40b bag. Chat w/ Guba about frameworks. Tried CSS file for homepage. Smoothie, chilli chk rice egg 65b. Booked Cooper 145b (cheaper). Started fixing logo/nav consistency w/ CSS. Try Ritalin pill from Guba—adjusted main section pages, finished main pages (maybe study drug had effect nothing noticible). Nono corner Kaopao 50b, chk rice takeout 25b. 8p Duck into outdoor BBQ pork spot, Kaopao w/ crispy pork 70b. Rice box 30b. Failed to fix secondary pages. Booked another night on Agoda app 136b (cheaper).

Jul 12: Handstand Mastery and Calisthenics

Couldn't sleep awhile (maybe from Ritalin). Rise 10:30a. Fixed blog section fully. Terrace WO: Shadow/kicks, handstand B2W kick (right leg best so far, 3x clean), f2w HS tucks 3x5. 1arm-1leg PU on chair 3x8. Adductor 3x8, abductor 2x7 (harder). Tri ext, shoulder mobility. Solid complete WO. Got compliment from Chinese girl: 'said thats very impressive.' Showed Jay handstand too. Tray spot pork egg rice 50b. Smoothie 35b. Fix first tool page. Shwr, rest. 8p Walk out in rain to Nono corner, 2 rice boxes 60b, Chang beer 59b. Rain messed up Sat Night Mkt. CM Gate smoothie, Hagao 5x 20b, ninja turtle sticker only 7b. Chat w/ Guba, smoked indica joint - he said not greeting hostel strangers means caring too much.
